On December 7, 2006 at 8:30 AM I took my daily walk to Delaware Park. It helps with my daily novenas to La Nova Pizzeria. Upon returning to my car, I found my window smashed, and my gym/travel bag taken from the back seat. Inside the bag was: my Buffalo Police Chaplain's Badge and ID, money, credit cards, priest stole, holy oil stock, pix, holy water sprinkler, gym gear, radio head set and the Sacred Relic of Father Baker given to me by Sister Nelson Harlack & Sister Bea Venditti from the Franciscan Sisters of Williamsville, New York.
The Father Baker Relic was used the night before to Bless two retired Police Officers and Officer Patti Parete who was shot in the line of duty two weeks ago. Lt. John King from the Buffalo Police Department assisted with the Blessing of these Officers with the Father Baker Relic. With the quick thinking of Officer Debbie Buyers, Officer Jeff Rinaldo, and Report Technician Barbara Mantione from D-District they contacted Mr. Thomas Bauerle from WBEN Radio. Tom was so very kind to announce the theft of Father Baker's Relic on his show throughout the morning. While driving to work, Miss Debra Glover, a schoolteacher, had something thrown at her car. She thought it was a brick thrown by three teenagers. Upon stopping to see what was thrown, she discovered it was a religious item. She in turn gave the religious item to Mr. Bob Walker school security officer; he in turn was listening to Tom Bauerle's show. The Father Baker Relic was given to Officer Buyers. I now have the Father Baker Relic back, and people are calling to be Blessed by Father Baker. My thanks to everyone connected to the return of Father Baker's Relic, and we continue to pray for Father Baker's Miracle for Officer Patti Parete's healing.
