    The Franciscan Guest House at St. Lawrence is a former convent, situated in central city, Buffalo, New York. It is available to any small group for spiritual programs, retreats, and overnight accommodations, especially for those who plan city service projects. Religious organization or groups affiliated with an accredited organization that have references, are welcome to stay at the Guest House as well. It will accommodate fifteen to twenty guests who would benefit from the intimate, community-building setting.

    The facilities include twelve small rooms on the upper floor, one that is occupied by a resident religious. Of the eleven other rooms, six have bunk beds, so there is sleeping for seventeen people. All of these rooms have sinks, and doors with individual locks. Each guest will be provided with his/her own key. Bedding is available upon request. Extra guests should bring sleeping bags.

    Also on the upper floor are a shower room with four stalls and a bathroom with four stalls. Each overnight guest will be provided with one bath towel and washcloth.

The ground floor has a working kitchen and a large dining room, as well as a large multi purpose room with a TV and DVD player. Guests must provide their own food and cook their own meals. This floor also has a small, intimate chapel for services, private meditation, and spiritual reading. The ground floor also houses a small clinic at one end, a counselor’s office at the other end, and a small bathroom.

In the basement is a laundry room, which guests can use. Also there is a food pantry that services the neighborhood needy.

In warm weather, guests can enjoy a small awning covered outdoor eating area, which overlooks a peaceful garden.

The Guest House is steps away from St. Lawrence Church and parish hall, both of, which are accessible to persons with disabilities. Check out the home page for service times.

Guests are asked to arrive Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during regular parish business hours,, which are 9 AM - 5 PM. THIS IS NOT A MOTEL. WE DO NOT HAVE PAID STAFF ON CALL AT ALL HOURS. On weekends, special arrangements can be made but they need to be discussed and approved by both parties in advance.

All fees are on a donation basis. Please remember your donation helps pay for building utilities.

Suggested per person fees are:

• $5.00 a Day

• $15.00 Overnight stay

• $30.00 Weekend stay

• $60.00 a Week
