Saint Lawrence is a friendly little Catholic Church in the City of Buffalo. We have the latest parish Mass in the City at 10:00 PM on Saturday night and we are handicap accessible. You are always welcome to come and worship with us.
We congratulate Deacon Joe and Cathy Pasquella as they celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary (July 10) May they be blessed with many more happy years together.
SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM
BEGINS THIS WEEK
The Buffalo Board of Education is sponsoring a FREE LUNCH PROGRAM, in the St. Lawrence Parish Hall, on MONDAYS, TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS only, from 11:00 a.m.—1:00 p.m., from July 7—August 15. This program is for all children 18 years of age and under.
FATHER “SLY” IS BACK!
Father Sylvester Serafin is back in Western New York for the next few weeks. (He’ll be staying with Father Paul Seil out at St. Bernadette’s.) He will be celebrating next weekend’s Masses (July 12 & 13) here at St. Lawrence. There will be a reception after each Mass for the parish family to greet him.
PARISH PICNIC
Our Annual Family Day Picnic at Town Park, in the Lions Pavilion next to the bandshell (rain or shine), is scheduled for Thursday, July 31, at 5:00 p.m. (dinner at 6:00 p.m.), with games, good food and opportunities to chat with your neighbors and friends. Hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls and condiments will be provided. There is no charge for the picnic. A free-will offering will be accepted. You are asked to bring your own beverage, place setting, chairs and a dish or dessert to pass. If you are in need of a ride, please call 896-0046 and leave a message at the Outreach Office. Please indicate your attendance by using the sign-up sheet in the back of church.
2008 CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL
June 30th was the official end to this year’s Catholic Charities’ Appeal. The total amount collected from our parish is $20,939.00. Your generosity is overwhelming and very much appreciated! Thank you all and may God continue to bless you and St. Lawrence Parish. ~ Pat Zimmer, Parish Chairperson
FEAST DAY CELEBRATION
AUGUST 10
SAVE THE DATE!
Our celebration will begin with an outdoor Mass at 12:00 Noon (no 10:00 a.m. Mass that day only). Festivities, food, and music to follow. Please plan to be there and get to meet and know your fellow parishioners while having fun!
ST. LAWRENCE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
“PRESERVING OUR STORIES FOR YEARS TO COME”
If you would like to submit your recipes, stories and memorabilia for our parish cookbook and our newly formed Historical Society, please contact Andrew Pitisi at 681-1783 or call the rectory, 2:00— 4:30 p.m. M-T-TH-F, to make an appointment with him. Every story is welcomed, because everyone, whether an “old” or “new” parishioner, is a member of our parish family. Let your stories from each life and every parish be our history.
LOOSE CHANGE 4 A CHANGE
You’ll notice the collection bottles in the back of church and at the side door. This money, part of an on-going project, will be used to pay for marketing of our school building in partnerships or grants. We all know that loose change adds up quickly, so check your pockets and dresser drawers. Thank you for your donations!
